Chief Executive's Student Forum
Current Update
Thirteen current Year 9 and 10 students were chosen from across the Territory to make up the 16 member panel that will represent the almost 10,000 government secondary school students.
The CESF provides these students with the chance to have direct access to senior departmental decision makers, and to provide input in a meaningful way on policy and strategies. Their input will be invaluable in helping to shape the future of education in the NT. The thirteen students were selected based on their involvement in educational and community activities and applications were very strong, with all the students selected having very good communication skills and strong leadership potential.
The first forum for 2008 was held in Darwin on 26 February where students discussed and debated educational issues with the senior executive group of DEET.
The Chief Executive’s Student Forum is now accredited as a Stage One subject. All students who participate fully will receive credit towards their NTCE.

Overview
The Chief Executive’s Student Forum initiative is aimed at improving opportunities for secondary students to develop their knowledge, skills and experience in leadership roles.
This program is an avenue for groups of secondary students to have direct access to the Chief Executive of DEET. This will give students the opportunity to have meaningful input into the future directions of DEET policy and strategy, raise areas of concern, and to voice issues they would like DEET to consider.
