Parents and Teachers Working Together
Current Update
The project aims to strengthen the involvement of the community in education through providing opportunities for parents to collaborate with teachers and actively engage in the education process, particularly in remote areas.
This project has been contracted to the NT Council of Government School Organisations (COGSO). A project consultant has visited remote schools to consult with the community to identify the support and site specific training needed. Training manuals and visual resources have been prepared in an Indigenous context and rollout of these resources will occur early tis year.
A needs analysis has been conducted and five key sites identified. A Project Officer has been employed to deliver support programs to improve partnerships in these communities in 2008.
