Capability Development Unit expansion

Current Update

All schools being supported by the Capability Development Unit (Central) have action plans for implementation of changes identified in an audit process. The plans include focus on teaching, pedagogy and professional development, and have identified actions to improve student outcomes and wellbeing.

The CDU is working closely with the Group Schools in Central Australia to ensure all remote schools are ready to implement Middle Years programs this year. This involves supporting curriculum, pedagogy, staffing and infrastructure.

The CDU is also involved in strategic planning and implementation with remote schools receiving Australian Government Intervention.

Overview

This initiative aims to expand the Capability Development Unit to allow it to provide Territory-wide access to its support and processes. This unit will expand in to Central Australia providing a more strategic approach to leadership and support services for remote schools facing particular challenges.
