Specialist Teacher Pools for Remote Schools

Current Update

The Specialist Teachers for Remote Communities and Collaborative Trial Sites projects are being rolled out concurrently.

Twelve specialist teacher positions were allocated and filled across Collaborative Trial Site schools for 2007 and this allocation will continue until the end of the 2008 school year.

The Collaborative Trial Sites and Specialist Teacher Pool projects are working to support the implementation of both Middle Years and Senior Years programs in remote schools.

Overview

The aim of the project is to establish groups of specialist teachers to support face-to-face delivery of quality secondary education to remote Indigenous students, improve enrolment, attendance and retention rates for these students and improve educational outcomes.
